Application of Magnetic Separator
The magnetic separator is suitable for applications that require the separation of raw materials with different magnetic rigidities. It is effective in the processing of fine, magnetic materials that have a granularity value that falls below 3mm such as hematite, limonite, wolfram, limonite, and tantalum-niobium, etc. The machine has also expanded in its application to include the purification of quartz, feldspar and nepheline.
A magnetic force is combined with machine force during the separation process. The machine is fitted with magnetic separators that attract ferromagnetic materials in order to separate them from the other materials. There is a wide range of magnetic separators each with a different design, size and a proven record of high efficiency. The choice provides solutions to many different types of applications.
All the designs of magnetic separators use a magnetic system as the main component. They are widely used in more than 20 mineral processing plants within China.
The magnetic separator can be effectively applied for wet mineral separation tasks involving magnetite, pyrrhotine, roasted ore, limonite, etc. It is also effectively used for the removal of other types of material such as coal, non-metal items, building materials, etc.
The magnetic separator is magnetic system made up of a closed magnetic circuit that is ring shaped and energizing coils that are made up of copper tubing cooled internally by water. There is a magnetic matrix in the form of grooved plates made of magnetic conductive stainless steel.
The features of the separator include a short magnetic circuit, low magnetic flux leakage, high magnetic intensity, high beneficiating results, and low energy consumption. Their simple structure makes them easy to use and maintain. The wet-type permanent magnetic separator consists of four main parts namely the cylinder, magnetic system, cell, and the transmission mechanism.
The separators adopt a cyclic design and the diameter of the process vessel ranges from 220mm to 3, 050mm according to suitability. Bent and welded stainless steel of 2-3mm is used in the manufacture of the cylinder, which accommodates the magnetic system. The cylinder is covered using a forged aluminum plate which is connected using stainless bolts. A decelerated machine is used to facilitate the rotation of the cylinder around the magnetic assembly using a motor.
Stainless bolts are used to install the magnetic element at the bottom plate with the axis of the magnetic yoke extending out of the cylinder. The axis of the magnetic yoke is fitted with cranks used for adjusting the angle of the magnetic assembly when necessary. The working area of the cell is made of a stainless steel plate while the other parts of the frame and cell are made of common welded steel.
